History
-The Mizu clan has a long history with Samuigakure, dating back to shortly after the village was founded. Originally the Mizu clan was part of their own stand-alone village that resided on the border of the Nariyama Ocean. After the founding of Samuigakure, there were conflicts between the two villages, but while Samuigakure continued to grow in power, the village of the Mizu did not change. Eventually, the Mizu were forced into submission, and since then, they have come to reside within Samuigakure. Many generations have passed since then. Now, while the Mizu clan does not get along with most native residents of Samuigakure, they tolerate them, and understand their part in the world now. Since their joining with Samuigakure, they have worked hard to make sure they were noticed, and not left forgotten, and have earned much for their work.
The Mizu clan now holds some reputation in Samuigakure, but they are still looked down upon much of the time by native residents of Samuigakure. The Aisu clan in particular looks down on the Mizu clan, believing their water capabilities to be inferior to their own ice power. While not actually complete enemies, they are still rivals to each other, and spats occur between the two clans all the time. Nothing overly hostile has ever occurred between the two clans, but most believe it is only a matter of time before something happens.
Special Training
-The Mizu clan trains their young from the extremely young age of 5 to begin their water training. While they don’t learn jutsu immediately, they learn to swim underwater from this age, and by the time they are academy students, they can already swim more effectively in the water than most shinobi can in their entire live thanks to their special traits. After they become academy students, they begin training with water charka, and by the time they are genin, they normally have learned to control their charka enough to use weaker water jutsu.
Kekkei Genkai
-Mizuburi-jingu (Water Breathing)
The Mizu clan’s kekkai genkai is very simple and effective. The Mizu clan can utilize their charka to siphon the oxygen molecules from the water and effectively breath underwater. Since this takes minimal charka sustaining, the clan can go on breathing underwater for unbelievably long periods of time. The children of the Mizu clan normally start showing signs of their kekkai genkai around the time they enter the academy. While they cannot fully control it, they can still breath underwater much longer than any normal students. They usual don’t fully master their kekkai genkai until they are chuunin, but it progresses steadily as they grow in power, until they can better control over their charka and are able to breath underwater almost indefinitely.
Kekkei Genkai History (if any)
-There isn’t much to say about the history of the Mizuburi-jingu ability. As long as anybody in the Mizu clan can remember, they have had the ability to breath underwater, the power coming almost naturally to them. In the older days, the shinobi of the Mizu clan took longer to master the power though, usually much older jounin learning to breath for so long. In current days, a low ranked chuunin can do water the elite jounin of the older Mizu clan could do. The clan has progressed far, and learned to hone their own abilities and focus solely on what their specialty is…water.
