Rules
1. You can have up to 1 character per person. But, keep in mind that you have to be active with your character. However the more experienced players will be able to apply for the right to have more characters, over time, to any of the Moderators in the Forum.
2. While in the rp, DO NOT spam. Don't post a single thing that isn't relevant to the rp at hand. If something must be said out-of-character, do it in the form of an OOC message, or an out of character message. An example:
Jin walked down the hallway. To his left he saw a door, slightly open. He walked closer and looks inside. Glancing to his right, he saw a piece a paper, with something written on it. He entered the room and picked up the paper. It read: "Best RP post ever, buddy xD"
[OCC]:Here is my OOC message. Here, I could talk about how stupid this post is. But after I said what was necessary, I'd go back to my post.[/OCC]
Jin laughed to himself, and turned to leave the room. Sensing that something is wrong, he slowly looked to his right. In the corner, there is an umbrella and a chair. The chair seemed to be broken, and leaned to one side. Jin walked closer to inspect it, but suddenly felt the presence of another. He instinctively tried to flee, but it was too late.
3. Remember that there are also NPC's around. These are non-playable characters that exist, but aren't one of the members RPing. They make situations more realistic (like shop owners or random people in the street), or could be used to enhance your point. Remember that they are people just like your RPC, and can't just be abused for your own interests. Most NPCs will not have a character sheet UNLESS and only UNLESS they are of importance to the plot at hand.
4. You NEVER kill another RPC without the other person's consent. Ever. That's final. Doing so will have you banned for 10 days from the RP section, we have a list and can keep an eye on you, if you do post in the RP section you will be Banned from the Forum for the number of days left in your sentence. An Example would be,
Player A kills Player B without Player B's consent, Player A is banned from the RP Section, if Player A is found out to have posted in the RP section during his/her sentence, he/she will be Banned from the forum for the remaining of the sentence.
5. Remember, you only control your own character. Avoid inadvertently controlling other characters. You can't force the actions of another person, and you can't control what they say. In other words, no godmodding. Remember, to keep to your Character's Rank Limits. Refer to Rule number 16
6. Try to be descriptive in your RP. Explain all the little details of what's going on, and the subtle differences of every situation. This makes the whole thing much more interesting for everyone else, and also eliminates confusion. There is a one paragraph minimum per post, more is preffered. This is not that hard to do...just remember to describe everything your character is doing and thinking.
7. Try to use more interesting words to describe ordinary things. Being monotonous with your word choice is an easy way to become boring.
8. Try your hardest to spell correctly. It's important if you're going to be understood and respected by the other RPers. If you do have difficulty or are unsure, there is a Spell Check button next to the Submit Post button, please press that before posting.
9. Remember to use spacing and punctuation! Keep things organized, it helps everyone else.
10. Type everything out. There are few things in the world that I hate more than when people type "u" when they mean "you". Everyone who does that should lose a freaking finger. I'm willing to live with it outside of the RP (if it isn't too bad), but it won't work in that context.
11. Make the distinction between thoughts, actions, and speech. Make sure that we know if your RPC is thinking, doing, or saying what you're typing. If you don't make this clear, things will get very confusing. You can achieve this through the use of Italics, Bold or Underlines and Different Colours for speech and thoughts.
For Example: "Hey you!" said joe.
Jeez what a prick thought tim.
It doesent matter whats what just don't mash everything up and make its not hard to read.
12. What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. Your RPC isn't in Vegas. If he or she gets injured, they'll stay that way until they heal. Of course, smaller injuries heal more quickly, but bigger ones could have you out of battle for a while. Please refrain for making it as, Player A broke his leg, the next day it healed, this is bull, this won't even occur even if we had Kick-Butt Super Medics in the RP. (Mind you unless they know some pretty freaky Forbidden Jutsus)
13. Keep your RPC's experiences in mind when roleplaying. If your RPC is a 13 year old girl, she's not likely to be a chain-smoking bus driver with arthritis. So role-play with her as if she's just a 13 year old girl. One that knows nothing about lung cancer, turn signals, or swollen joints.
14. When RPing, it's preferred that you use the Third-Person point of view in past tense. For those who always slept through their english classes, this means imagining and explaining scenes as an outsider. If your RPC's name is Jimmy, you would use something like:
Jimmy took off his hat, and did a little dance.
Instead of:
I take off my hat and do a little dance.
Get it?
15. Your character cannot be in more than one place at a time. He/she must enter and leave each thread when he/she is done with it, and travel to their next area they are going to. As for traveling between villages and such, you must go through proper paths, such as the Western Desert to get from Kagegakure to Hajiigakure and vice versa. If the Person you were RPing with goes missing and you cant get away untll they post then ask a mod if you can leave the thread or ask to skip that person.
16. Finally, remember what your character is capable of doing, and what they can't do. This includes keeping track of their equipment, their jutsu, and their traits. So if their fresh out of the acadamy they wouldent be able to take down an experienced ninja or anything like that.
